  1. This book from the early 1960s is amazing. I purchased a copy off of Amazon about 2 years ago and still marvel at the variety of great info. in this book. It covers isometrics and static contraction training with weights, without weights, and with cool homemade equipment you can build, ranging from simple contraptions using boards, chains, and pipes, to homemade isometric racks, in which you adjust your bar to different heights within the rack and push or pull as hard as possible for various exercises.
